Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the art of Krav Maga and other martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.

Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students. Here are a few of Simi Valley Krav Maga's instructors and other staff members, starting with :

Jeremy Stafford  (Lead Instructor)  Jeremy Stafford is our lead instructor here at Simi Valley Krav Maga. You can find more information about Jeremy under the Lead instructor link.

Julie Stafford  (Owner/KM Certified Fitness Instructor/KM-X Certified Instructor/KM Certified Instructor)  Julie Stafford has been involved in Krav Maga for the last 6 1/2 years, and currently holds a green belt in Krav Maga. Julie holds the titles of "Certified Krav Maga Instructor" to a list of accomplishments that includes certified Krav Maga Fitness Instructor and Certified Krav Maga Children's (km-X) Instructor. She has three kids, Jessica 12 and Jack 10, who are Black Belts in Tang Soo Do, and Joseph 5, who is disabled. When not working on the smooth operation of the school, Julie can most likely be found taking Joey to his therapy and chasing the other kids around!. Julie is dedicated to making Simi Valley Krav Maga the most exciting and friendly place to train in Ventura County.

Trish McCready  (General Manager, KM Certified Instructor and Fitness Instructor)  Trish was one of our very first students, and has worked her way to the position of Instructor and General Manager. Trish passed KMWW's rigorous Phase A Instructor Certification program and is getting ready for Phase B. Trish's natural aggressiveness combined with her calm demeanor provides a great role model for our newer students, both male and female. On top of all of her responsibilities at the school, Trish runs her own successful Accounting firm and still finds time for her husband and two sons.

Christian Medina  (KM Certified Black Belt Instructor and km-X Certified Instructor/ BJJ Purple Belt) Christian is a Black Belt Instructor in Krav Maga and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt under World Champion Jean Jaques Machado. Simi Valley Krav Maga is happy to have him as a guest instructor from Sherman Oaks Krav Maga. While serving as the Senior Instructor of Krav Maga DC, he also acquired a brown belt in judo (NIH judo club). Christian earned degrees from UCLA, the University of Washington, and The George Washington University (DC). While in DC, he spent 2 summers teaching biological sciences to underprivileged high school students, first in GWU’s Upward Bound program and then as the head biotechnology instructor for the Health Professionals of Tomorrow program, in conjunction with DC’s Latin American Youth Center. Christian is also a fitness enthusiast. He holds current personal training certifications from NASM (CPT/CES), NCSF(CPT), and ISCA(Kbox Round II).

Daniel Sovetky  (KM Certified Black Belt Instructor) Daniel Sovetky has numerous credentials and accomplishments. We will be updating this section shortly to detail them.

David Bluestein  (KM Certified Black Belt Instructor) David Bluestein has numerous credentials and accomplishments. We will be updating this section shortly to detail them.

Danny Romero  (Krav Maga Instructor) Danny is a guest certified KM Instructor from Chatsworth and Moorpark Krav Maga. He is a great addition to our Simi Valley Krav Maga center.

Todd Johnson  (Krav Maga Instructor) Todd "T.J." Johnson is a certified Krav Maga instructor. He spent five years in the United States Marine Corps where he served as an Infantry Squad Leader and a Sergeant of B Co. 1st Battalion 4th Marines. He has deployed and trained in various locations in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. He received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his sevices as a Squad Leader. In 2002 Todd left the Marine Corps to pursue a career as a police officer. He became a sworn Police Officer for a local municipal Police Department in 2003. As a member of the Firearms Training Unit he has been California P.O.S.T. certified through the F.B.I. as a department Rangemaster and Firearms Instructor. He is certified through Taser Int. as a Taser instructor and armorer. T.J. joined the Field Training Officer Staff in 2007. T.J. has been a member of SVKM since 2007 and attended KM instructor school in Jan 2008. In the past he has trained in boxing, kickboxing, grappling and Police Defensive Tactics. T.J. currently resides in Simi Valley with his wife and son. He looks forward to continuing in his Krav Maga training and helping to train students.

Brian McCready  (Adult and Childrens Grappling Instructor) Brian comes to us with a diverse athletic background and a long list of accomplishments. He began playing soccer at the age 6 and was a staple on the All Star team almost immediately. He has participated in tournament play all over southern California and Hawaii, as well as overseas in Germany, Denmark, and England. In high school he tried out for the wrestling team and quickly became a force to be reckoned with on the mat. He was undefeated in his first 2 years as a JV wrestler. As a junior he earned a spot on the Varsity team and won 118 of his 128 matches over the next 2 years. Brian continued wrestling and playing soccer through the intramural sports programs while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Brian is not only an athlete but also a coach, Having coached several Soccer teams to first place finishes. Brian can be found teaching children’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes here in Simi Valley. Brian is an Eagle Scout, a Krav Maga Green belt, a Karate & Japanese Jiu-Jitsu Purple belt, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue belt, holds a Masters Degree in Business, and is a father of 2.

Tate Littlepage  (Fighting Instructor) Tate Littlepage has trained in the martial arts for the past 23 years. His martial arts training began in Madisonville, KY under the instruction of Troy Hayes. Tate has earned a second degree black belt under Mr. Hayes in Kai Kan Ryu Do. While attending Eastern Kentucky University Tate began training at the Richmond School of Karate in Richmond, KY under the instruction of Dan McCalisin. Presently, Tate holds a second degree black belt in shotokan with Mr. McCalisin. After graduating college Tate relocated to southern California and began training at Chatsworth Karate in Chatsworth, CA under the instruction of Mark Cox. Tate currently holds a first degree black belt in tang soo do with Mr. Cox. For the last five years Tate has traveled and trained in various martial schools here in southern California some of the styles he studied includes muay thai, Brazilian jujitsu, aikido, and capoeira. Besides training Tate has competed in amateur full contact kickboxing and open martial arts tournaments, conducts combative seminars, teaches as a guest instructor, and in the past trained fighters for competion. Tate is now part of the Simi Valley Krav Maga team and looks forward to the opportunities that are ahead.

Brandon Sherman  (KM Certified Instructor) Brandon Sherman has numerous credentials and accomplishments. We will be updating this section shortly to detail them.

Daniel Romero Jr.  (KM Certified Instructor) Daniel Romero Jr. has numerous credentials and accomplishments. We will be updating this section shortly to detail them.

Janet Stafford  (Operations Manager) Mom runs the day to day operations of the studio, she keeps things running smoothly and efficiently. Mom is not to be questioned nor are you to look her in the eye. Her orders are to be obeyed without question.
